My Dear Heroes, I was a child when the war befell on my very beautiful Croatian homeland, with tears in my eyes and a prayer on my lips, I was in school and lived every day together with the bravest sons, like who with my Croatia, bleed defending every step of this holy land. God decided that the war would not catch my Split and other towns and places throughout Croatia, that I was spared from all that befell on my people in other places. For years, I felt guilty because I was spared. My dad returned from the war return living and healthy, and my family gathered - my Croatia is free, free, however, today she is bleeding. Today my eyes are filled with tears, my heart is full of sorrow because of those who have given the most, yet today, they have nothing. My soul hurts for every Croatian mother's tear who gave this holy land the most and most valuable she could give - the life of her son. This is the most holiest sacrifice one could give which today is underestimated and forgotten. My heart hurts for every Croatian hero whose pride has been trampled on and my heart hurts every second for Croatian generals who are not free. Day to day I listen to sad stories of Croatian veterans ending their lives, while there are those who stomped on everything that is holy, sold the blood and country for nothing, betrayed their own blood, yet they feel valuable walking on the foreheads and treading upon the bones of the suffering. My dear heroes, I want you to know and never forget that there is one nineteen year old whose heart beats with you and for you, for Croatia, and that you will never be alone. Be strong and proud as in '91 when you stood to defend this holy land, we will together defy and weather through the fog and storm which stand in our way, do not raise your hands yourself and give Croatia to those who did not bloodily fight with their own hands because they do not deserve Croatia. Together we will fight for every Croatian veteran's worthy life, freedom for all Croatian heroes and for a better future for our Croatia - the one we together have all dreamed about. We will preserve our Croatia from those who want evil on Croatia, and today there are many of them, and we owe this to all who dreamed of this Croatian dream and with the sky above and the destiny our homeland. Know that the sun will disperse all the darkness which comes over above our home and our nation, I know the road has always been rocky, but, this road will lead to the stars. This is why we need you, we need your pride, we need your strength because you are the only support and faith our youth have for a better future. We need you, we need you, strong, proud, to stand with us, and together we secure the truth about our holy Croatian Homeland War from forgetting, for us, the younger generation and all those who will come after us. Let God give you strength on our common path for a better Croatia. Do not forget that the Croatian heart always has been above all things and everyone, and our task is to preserve the Croatian heart.
